Long Period

So I got my copper IUD last month and had it inserted during my period because my OBGYN said that is when my cervix is more open. Idk but flashback to a month later I get my period a week early and my cramps are the worst that I've ever felt. I knew that my cramps would be worse but didn't know it would be a week early. I wanted to know, is that was normal? Also i just got off my period tonight and it lasted almost 2 weeks. 12 days to be exact. Now is that normal?
