DIY at home keratin treatments?

Have any of you ladies tried an at home keratin treatment on your hair? Or any other straightening or smoothing system at home? The trip to the hair salon for it is so pricey, but is it worth it to save money on it and do it at home??

I wouldn't mess with an at home kit, you could risk burning your scalp as well as your hair and causing serious damage that will take a long time to grow out. I've been having keratin treatments done at the salon for 3-4 years now. It's expensive, but because it's done properly my hair is soft and healthy. I started with every 3 months and now I'm able to go every 6-8. I would strongly discourage buying an at home kit just to save money.

But keratin hair spray! It's by suave.  It makes my hair soft and thick and straight.  Spray then dry and flat iron
