Advice please

I'm pregnant and my mom is pissed at my baby's daddy because he doesn't live here currently and he works and told me he gets 200 a night where he works. My mom said from the moment I told him I was pregnant he should have been sending me money to help start stock piling on stuff which I have been doing myself working my ass off I have bills he has none. I have told him before I need money im broke  or I'm not gonna be able to eat and he said he can't find a way to send me money so I let it go my parents have been helping me out and they are pissed cause he hasn't done anything yet to help out with the child. But one thing he has done is join the military which I think makes everything else go away.  My parents are pissed cause I'm thinking about getting back with him and we had some issues in the past my parents know about that they think we won't be good together and ima get Hurt again. Should I listen to them and not try? Or should I try to work things out with him. I just don't want a split family. :(
