When to move on to IVF ❤️

Hi girls,

I have tried 1 round of injectables with intercourse and 1 with IUI. Both were not successful :( even though I had 3 18mm follicles. Should I just go to IVF or did some of you get a BFP on multiple rounds?? Please offer me some advice. This is a huge decision. Maybe my tube isn't picking up the egg, maybe for some reason his sperm don't want to fertilize my egg. Please help! ❤️

I've been having the same question for the past one week. Should I move on to IVF instead of another IUI? I'm currently in my tww post second IUI with injectables. I took gonal F. I'm anxious right now cause i tested 8dpiui and it was negative. I know that it was wayyy too early but I couldn't wait any longer. My RE is pushing me towards IVF but I'm hesitant as I'm really scared of big fat needles (read on POI shots. Big mistake!). I'll update you on my result in a week's time. Trying my best to stay calm and positive.

My doctor told me that it takes most people an average of 5 IUIs to get their positive... Your doc will know best about when IVF should be done.

TTC for 5 yrs. Miscarriage in Jan of 2013 and another miscarriage in July 2014. 8 failed iuis and this past Monday I had my first fresh IVF transfer. We have unexplained infertility. His sperm if perfect and everything with me is normal.

I have tried two IUI's both unsuccessful. I do have insurance that is going to cover so I have decided to move to IVF. I think I will have better chances with it. We are going to start in April and hopefully transfer in June. I'm so excited and can't wait to begin this journey.

I did 3 failed iuis with injectables and a cancelled cycle due to overstimulation. I was really thinkin g that my eggs don't fertilise for some reason, or that they are not getting into the Fallopian tube or whatever.... 
Anyways, was moving onto IVF when I got pregnant! 
So don't lose hope ladies:):) I honestly thought there was something properly wrong with me that nobody had picked up yet (and wouldn't until IVF) and it all happened naturally. 
I am 7 weeks now and I still get super anxious if all is worki g as it should but my body is doing a fabulous job!!! 
Someone once said to me 'your body is doing the best it can do with what it has'. 
It really gave me comfort that throughout all the illnesses and medical issues that my body was still trying to heal and do things correctly:)

I am in a really similar position and posted a poll to get others advice about the next step. The majority thought I should move to IVF. We have done clomid for 8 months, 3 failed IUIs and our 4th was cancelled last week due to sperm count. Doctor said she thinks low sperm count was a fluke, one-time thing and would do 2 or 3 IUI with injectable or start IVF. After a lot of thought and reading the advice of others, I think we have decided to do one more round of IUI (my friend is donating her leftover follistim to me and I'll only have to purchase a 75iu vial to get me through a cycle). We need time to figure out the IVF process and finances anyway. Our insurance covers absolutely nothing for fertility so it will take us some time to figure out how to pay and gather money. So in the meantime, we will do an IUI and hope it works. But it will likely be our last one - it doesn't seem to make much sense to keep throwing good money after bad if we are going to end up with IVF soon anyway. I think your doctor can best tell when to try IVF. Hubby n I are TTC for 4 years now. He's very low and on drugs now. Doc says we can try IVF but the time ain't right yet. Praying for the best.

Hi Jessica,

Honestly I would move on to IVF. It is more expensive yes, but odds are you will get pregnant faster.  IUI and IVF cycles are so emotionally draining that it may do you better in the log run to go with the much better chance! We went through 5 IUIs with no success and have our first embryo transfer with IVF#1. The emotional roller coaster with the IUI and low success rates was enough for us to make the switch! We only wish we would have tried it sooner! Good luck!! Baby dust to you!

I did 3 IUIs (2 w fermera and 1 with injections. All bfn. 
Tried one more with injections and we ended up canceling. Will start ivf in april
