While I was at the park with my 4 year old child their were these 2 little girls who had to be around 7 and 8 years old and they were playing with dolls. My 4 year old walked over to them and was watching them play and telling them that their dolls were pretty. She asked one of them if she could touch her dolls hair and the girl told her no and pulled her doll out of her reach. My 4 year old asked them why she wasn't allowed to touch the doll and they told that she couldn't touch them because their dolls were "American".. Umm wtf?

Answer

Could they have been referring to the American girls dolls? I understand them not wanting a 4yo to touch them in that instance because those dolls run about 120$ each with just the basic dress they come with and the hair down. To have their hair done it costs around 35$ (more then what I pay for my own hair haha!) And I didn't even bother asking about the clothes!
