Holding baby day & night

Am I the only one that loves to hold baby day & night when baby falls asleep or is up? My baby boy is 5 weeks and I love to hold my baby 24/7 .. my father in law tells me that I can put the baby down to let him sleep but at times my baby does not want to be put down.. I feel like I am spoiling him by holding him and rocking him to sleep.. ftm and I feel like holding my baby all day feels really comforting. But sometimes uncomfortable. If I don't hold him for so long I feel empty that something is missing even if he is right beside me but not in my arms..
