2 cm dilated?

I'm 38 weeks and found out I'm 2cm dilated right now. I just wanted to know how soon could a baby come after finding that out?

My midwife won't even start checking me until I actually go into labor because of how non informative these exams are. You might stay dilated like that for weeks, you might go into labor in an hour... There's no way of knowing and it's not predictive to your progress at all.

I've been 2cm since 36 weeks. I'm 37 weeks and still 2cm :(  it can also change very fast though so you never know! :) good luck!
