Question

Can you breast feed and formula feed at the same time? Well obviously switching it up once in a while. I would have to let my baby stay with my mom for some time due to work but I wanna breast feed when I can and while away have him use formula. So can I?

I know lots of people who do this. But you might want to consider pumping milk too for when you're not there. Or taking a break at work to pump. Especially in the beginning you could become engorged if you don't express your milk while you're away from the baby ... And that can be painful as well as lead to clogged milk ducts, which are really painful. I've had mastitis both with my first and second kid, and I exclusively breastfed and pumped, and I still got it. Not fun!

Yeah that's what I'm doing because sometimes the milk isn't enough for her and also I like to know how much she's getting.

You can but sometimes it is hard to keep up supply if you don't pump. I plan on doing formula and breast milk depending on how my supply is but I like the freedom that formula gives as well.

I did it with my first, but she began to prefer the bottle to nursing and soon after preference grew for formula to breast milk, I only ended up nursing for a few months.
