Unwanted results

So my period is 24 days late. There is a slight chance I'd be pregnant because my bf and me had unprotected sex a week before my start date. Anyways, I really want to take the test because I just need to know what's going on in my body, but another part of me doesn't want to because what if it's negative :( I'll be so disappointed inside! Can anyone relate?
