Is my baby sick?

For 3 nights now I lay my almost 2 week old down to sleep and he starts wheezing horribly and coughing and it sounds like he's choking on liquid and throwing up but he's not. I use the syringe for his mouth and nose but it doesn't seem to go away and the wheezing is so bad it's got me worried he can't breath and he'll suffocate. Is this normal or could it be croup or bronciolitis?? We have a Dr appt Monday but if this sounds like he's sick I want to rush him to the er now!
