Ovarian cyst

I had back pain for 3 years and couldn't figure out why. I also had what felt like pressure/heaviness in my hip area. The OBGYN did a vaginal ultrasound last April and found a cyst on my right ovary. I was on the pill months before that and she said the pill would dissolve it. I had a couple months on and off with no pain now the pain is almost imberable the pressure in my hips hurts so bad does anyone else with cysts have pain like this? What helps them? Obviously birth control isn't dissolving them lately :/
