Baby's head not engaged?

Ftm. I'm 38+3 and not dilated yet (I know this doesn't really mean anything). The doctor also said babies head is not engaged yet. Does this mean I still have awhile before I go into labor? Personal experiences are appreciated!

I wasn't dilated or effaced at my 40 week checkup, and I had her the next day! Things can move very quickly.

My sons head wasn't actually engaged till I was like 5cm or more during delivery so it can happen at the very end.

It can happen at any moment! My daughters head was engaged for a very long time. But some babies don't do it for awhile.
