I feel really mixed on this case. On one hand I feel awful for how traumatic it must be for the little girl to have to leave the only family she knows.

On the other the ICRA exists for good reason, and my understanding is that she would have been moved a lot sooner if the foster family hadn't been trying to fight it. I think it's also important to understand this was a fostering situation, they're not undoing an adoption. As heart wrenching as it can be reunification is usually the goal.

I don't understand why she wasn't placed with Native Americans in the first place. She's been with this family for 4 years, and you can hear the little girl crying in the video. This is a horrible situation, but, I think Lexi should stay where she's been for the past 4 years. That's her family now, and it's what she knows.

Her extended family in Utah agreed to let her be fostered closer to where her biological dad lived in hopes of reunification. When that didn't work they applied for custody, rhe bio father supported it, and the foster family fought them. Lexi Skyped with her bio family weekly and had monthly visits. The Bio family also has custody of one of her sisters, and the other sister lives down the street. I personally think it is really unfair of the foster family to put the poor child through this instead of making the transition easier 😕
