Boy drama

I've like a guy for a while (we have been talking forever ) and since he always gives me mixed signals (one day we are best friends, one day We don't know eachother, somedays I'm the girl of his dreams) I never showed him any interest because I don't want to look like a fool.  We've had some really deep talks and we connect really well (he makes my heart beat faster), things have always got in the way and lately I kinda want to talk to him and stop playing hard to get because i don't want to regret it one day. WHAT SHOULD I DO
