Anyone else??

Question

Anyone else receiving complaints and flack for YOUR decisions in your pregnancy and birth?! It's confusing to me why people think my pregnancy and birth experience should revolve around what makes THEM happy rather than what my husband and I want. For example, I'm getting crap for not finding out the sex! And I do not want visitors in the hospital, and I'm getting complaints about that too! It's frustrating to me because these should be my decisions and I shouldn't have to deal with drama because people don't agree with them.

Yeah for some reason people think that they should have a say. And it's very confusing to me why they would think that. I personally want to know the sex, but that's my choice. Plenty of people want it to be a surprise, it's a personal moment in your life! You get the choice and have the right to make that decision!

As for the visitors at the hospital, I have been so torn on that. Part of me wants to have that time to myself and the baby. I don't share well lol. However the other part of me wants to tell everyone to come in that small timeframe (2 days), and then have them leave me alone once I get home so I don't have to entertain at the house. But either way, still your choice and no one else's business.

Yeah, had that a lot with my first. Said I didn't want the pain mess, wanted to cloth diaper, wanted to breastfeed, and everyone told me I didn't know what I was doing and it would be so different when labor and the baby came and it would all be too hard and I would change my mind. It's why I decided not to announce this time around. People can stay out if my business.
