Contractions in different pregnancies?

For those of you who have had more than one child, did your contractions with each baby feel the same? With my first they were really painless, even at 9 cm dilated. they just felt like I was doing a long plank and squeezing my ab muscles. This afternoon I've been having some completely different sensations - my stomach isn't tightening (although it feels hard to the touch) and they've had me doubled over for a few seconds in the store. Was just curious if each baby has a different feeling or if this is something else!
