Baby Registry...

What do you consider items that are too expensive to put on a registry? I had always planned to buy the crib, changing table/dresser, glider, and stroller. If the grandparents offered to buy any of those I would be extremely appreciative, but I feel weird about putting them on my registry as it could appear as though I expect someone else to purchase these more expensive items. That being said, I just ordered the stroller I've been wanting (almost $500) and my mother gave me a bit of a guilt trip saying I shouldn't be buying those things and that I should wait for my shower. Opinions?
