Military Couples?

My husband is in the military and currently stationed about 30 hours away from where we are from. My first appointment isn't until the 25th so I'm not sure my exact due date but according to glow I'm about 6 weeks and 2 days. My question is did you feel pressure from your family to come home and have the baby there? I would love to but my husband is being deployed VERY shortly after the baby is born and I feel like he should get as much time in with me/baby as he can before then. :( my family disagrees and I'm totally stressing out over it! Anyone else relate?

In my opinion, your "family" is now your extended family. Do what's best for you and your husband and baby- that is who matters most and they are your immediate family. It seems incredibly selfish of them to expect you to travel 30 hours to have your baby near them... They can come to you when baby is born.

My family is military and my husband is military. If you're going to a hospital on post. They created this program call centering. It's where women with close due dates come together and talk and have snacks. But it's after every appointment. It's a way to make friends and help you if you need it.

My husband is military. We are stationed in Alaska and my family is in Florida. It's no way I would go home for child birth. You have your husband and that's all you need. Child birth is no walk in the park. I had my son 4 years ago in Ga and I was so happy that it was just me and my husband. Yes I love my family but when giving birth I didn't want to be bothered at all!!!! Now I'm preg again and I'm going to experience having yet another baby away from my family. Your family will have plenty of time with that baby. Let your husband enjoy every single moment of this!! Congrats.

I'm having our baby overseas. Our family never pressured me to come home to have the baby. That just seems like way too much stress. My mom already plans to come here as soon as I'm about to pop.
