Diva Cup grip rubbing?

Question

So I started my cycle today, and while I was out and got a Diva Cup.  I had been debating for a few months and figured why not now?

It is currently in and while I don't exactly feel anything, I can tell there is a pressure (I'm assuming from the vacuum it made in my body) and a rubbing, which I can onl think would be the grip rings rubbing against the outer lips of my vagina.

Has anyone else had this happen?  Should I many be try another brand?  I liked the Lily Cup while I was researching and wanted to try it, but the store I went to only had the Diva Cup.

hey there! if the grip is bothering you, you can trim it! doesn't hurt it one bit! I love my diva cup. always make sure you help push it up though because I find that mine can slip out a rub too

Maybe it is not completely in, or maybe it is just way too long for you. Diva cups are pretty large. Check out other brands and compare sizes, look for a smaller one. Meluna has sooooo many options.

I had the same problem and ended up cutting the stem all the way off.  I was worried at first that it might be hard to get out after I did this but the base is textured enough that getting it out is mo problem and I'm totally sold on menstral cups now!

Yeah me too.. I just started using it so I don't want to trim it bc it does help me loosen it up but I also don't want to put it in too far bc I read some story about someone's cup suctioning to their cervix?? I'm really afraid of this but does anyone know if it's something I need to worry about

Trim the end if it's too long.

That happened to me, and I didn't put it in far enough. Try another way to fold it when inserting. I tried a different way of folding and I could put it in there much further and no longer feel the grips.

Not sure if you found a solution, but I just purchased a diva cup as well and felt like this. I figured out it was because the cup didn't open fully so it was trying to create a vacuum on its own. I went and readjusted it and now I can't even feel it.
