What should I buy my boyfriend for his birthday?

okay so I'm 16 and he's turning 17 in a couple days.. I have no idea what to get him. he loves sports.. but he doesn't need anything sorr related. he plays ps4.. but he doesn't want any other games for it.. I know for a fact I'm writing him a hand written letter but I feel like I need something more.. someone please help me and suggest some gifts. I'm willing to make things as well!

It is my boyfriends birthday in a couple days but I bought him and I both to an NHL game to the Minnesota wilds, (we both love hockey) and he can be really shy, but he seemed to have so much fun and come out of his shell, so it's just an idea but it was an incredible night!

I live in New Zealand so I'm not sure if this is a worldwide product but I use a FitBit it looks like a watch kind of and it tracks your steps,blood pressure and heart rate all that good stuff they aren't too expensive which is a bonus maybe he would be into that ?

Plus I feel like a handwritten letter is sweet but more of a girly thing that girls appreciate more than the guys and also sort of a valentine gesture

If you can afford it get him my watch I go to TJ Maxx and they have brand-name watches like Michael Kors or anything like that that is not too expensive it will make everyone a specially other girls know that you gave it to him also it will help him feel more like a man

Something clothing related if you know what he likes and size (hats, sweaters etc)

Or you could make him a little gift basket (favourite chocolate or candies, or any other small things he likes; my friend often did this for her boyfriend with a pair of underwear his fav chocolate and drink as well as a coupon for a hug or kiss when we were that age)
