No period after implanon

I had Implanon for 3yrs, then had it replaced and had it a few months and I got the worst period ever. Very heavy bleeding, clots every 20 mins and it went on and on started dec2015 ended Feb 2016. I was fed up and got implanon removed and my period has not came back since it ended in Feb. I never have regular period while on it though. Has anyone else not had a period after it was removed? I'm not pregnant but we are trying and I need to have a period so I can ovulate again..
