Ovulating after miscarriage?

I am so heartbroken. I lost my sweet baby at 10 weeks, 5 days. I had a D&C on April 22. Today it is May 11, 20 days post D&C. My hcg was down to 6 two days ago. What happens now? Will I ovulate soon? Or go straight to period? Does hcg have to be down to 0 for a new cycle to start?

Just an update: I did ovulate yesterday!!! All tests say yes! So, that's 4 weeks after 1st d&c and 2 weeks after the second one.

I havent had my hcg tested after my miscarriages, but i know each time, my period came back 5 weeks after the loss. I know there are some people who get pregnant before getting their first period too, it's just hard to date the pregnancy accurately. My dr recommends waiting a few cycles to try again just to give your uterus time to heal and produce addecuate lining. Best of luck to you, hope you feel better soon.

Kathy I am in the same boat (I even have the same name!!). 
I had my d& c on April 21st for 11+4 sized baby. 
Had another d&c two weeks later exactly and have been testing using frer and now finally have a complete negative. 
I'm taking this as my levels must be under 5 because when I got my first positive on a frer my level was 5 (confirmed with bloods).

I have been testing ovulation the last two days  out of curiosity and they have some colour but nothing special. Don't know if they will ever go positive. I also have PCOS and the only time I have ovulated without injectables was when I got pregnant.
