Ovarian Cyst Surgery

First time posting, really need some advice!

I had a miscarriage in January, my husband and I have been trying to conceive using NFP since June and last month (October), I went to the ER with pain that I thought was a kidney infection, but it was actually a 3.5cm cyst on my right ovary.

Last week, I went to my OB and had another ultrasound done. Cyst is still there and the same size. He said that it was most likely a mucus cyst or endometriosis. He said it would be easier to conceive if it was removed so he scheduled a laproscopy for 3 weeks from now to remove it.

I am worried that there could be other courses of action that wouldn't risk complications like possibly removing my ovary. Because my husband and I are Catholic, we will not consider <a href="https://glowing.com/glow-fertility-program">IVF</a> as an option, so I would really like to keep both of my ovaries and do whatever I can to conceive naturally!!
