Thank you notes?

So my baby shower is this weekend (I'll be 38 weeks on the day) and some people that are unable to come have mailed me their gifts and it has me thinking...I should probably start keeping a list to do thank you notes right, like people will be expecting a thank you note? Idk why it hasn't dawned on me til now. Did everyone else do thank you notes too? Or is it a thing of the past?

Always always ALWAYS send thank you notes. It is such a good habit and so important. Gratitude is not a dying practice. Someone spent their hard earned money on you and your baby. Show them you appreciate that with a hand written note. It literally takes 2 min. And who doesn't love to get real mail??

We have been sending out thank you notes as well. Both for things that have been mailed to us and gifts we received in person at the baby shower.

I am waiting just a few more weeks tell baby arrives then I plan to send hand written thank you notes along with newborn photos to everyone who sent gifts or came to the shower (: I know it will be a little later than expected but I feel like including the pictures makes it extra special and they will appreciate getting to see and hear about the baby they spent their money and time on. Yes! I always write thank you notes for gifts I receive. Very good habit to get into! It's ok if they're a bit late. It is a nice way of letting them know you appreciate them for thinking of you and the baby and supporting you during your pregnancy. 💌📬

I'm super old school and did thank you notes. People loved them (used a pic from our maternity pics) I got so many texts and calls from people saying how nice it was to get them.

Thank you notes are good etiquette, and should be sent out as soon as you're able to, but no later than a month or so after getting the gift. I try to knock mine out the day I receive the gift, just to get it out of the way. Try pre-stamping your envelopes and writing your return address on them. Helps save time.

I'm going to be sending out thank you notes with the birth announcement - my shower is only two weeks before my due date so I'll be keeping a list and writing up the thank-you's right away. The birth announcement is just waiting for a photo, so it will go out within a week of baby being born!
