To go back on Birth Control or not?

Okay so as far as birth control goes I've heard both good and bad things about it. I'm currently almost 23 yrs old. And when I started taking birth control I was 16. Since way back when I've gone on and off birth control. Though I wouldn't really say that I've been fully off of it until September of last year. Also when I say I was going on and off it I was in reality just trying different forms of it. I've tried the pill,the patch, the shot. Sadly the only thing that ever worked for me was the shot but I'd already been on that for far longer than I was supposed to be. Which is another reason I came off birth control. Along with the fact that I was/am scared that I'd become infertile. However with recent life changes/choices I think it'd be best to go back on some type of birth control besides just using condoms. Because condoms I've heard are more or less back up birth control. Anyways I was just curious as to what everyone else's opinion would be. And sorry this is so long but thanks for reading.
