The Back-story on "Do you think it's possible to be raped by your husband?"
Hi ladies,
A couple days ago, I created a poll asking "Do you think it's possible to be raped by your husband?." First off, I'd like to thank everyone for turn out of almost 4000 votes and 500 comments. I didn't know it would be that popular.
Now, I know that a lot of you had, and still have your opinions, and definitely didn't hold back when it came to your disagreements. But I thought it would be nice to translate what does the poll was really about, and reply to some of the comments. Please feel free to ask me any questions if I didn't cover something you didn't your understand.
1. Why I Asked?
I'd like to begin by saying that I'm just a teenage girl, with no intentions of "starting another debate on Glow". This question popped into my head on account of my friend informing me that his mother was raped by his father. Yes, the mother and father were married at time, and are now divorced which should make sense to you. All I really wanted to know was what you all thought about being raped by someone like that.
2. The Way I Worded It.
I know there may has been some confusion about the way I worded my question. Let me be honest, I was only expecting 100 or 200 votes like I usually get. I guess not this time. It truly does make sense that some people wouldn't appreciate the way I put my question. I mean who would want to be raped by there own husband?!?!?! That's so offensive! But in actuality, I worded it that way on purpose. And for people to take it whatever way they wanted, cuz hey! It is your opinion after all. But I guess I wasn't really thinking, and I sincerely apologize for that.
3. For Those of You Who Said "No" and For Those Who Disagreed With Them.
I mean come on, y'all. Let's not get carried away. I made "no" a choice for a reason. If I only put yes as an option, it would be like no one had a voice and I was making you say yes. What did I choose? I chose I don't know because I was very confused at the time. Am I RAGING WITH FURY at those who said "No"? Absolutely not! It's your opinion, what am I going to do about it? ?
4. VICTIMS OF RAPE
RAPE IS A VERY SERIOUS MATTER THAT SHOULDN'T BE TAKEN LIGHTLY. I feel very sorry for you and I hope everything turns out fine for you. And may the man who did this to you regret it for the rest of his natural born life, and NEVER come in contact with you EVER again! Unless of course you forgave him and y'all are enjoying life together......we can just forget I said anything. K? K.
5. For People Who Say "My Husband Would Never!"
Just always have your guard up is all I ask. Okay?
6. "My Body Belongs To My Husband 24/7."
I'm too young to comment on that situation, so I'll leave that alone.......
7. Those People Who Said "Agree to Disagree"
I agree. That's the wonderful thing about opinions. They aren't facts. You can disagree witg them if you want. You don't need anyone else's approval. Not everyone's going to agree with you. That's life.
Well now you know,
