I think if you're very very very careful and really track your cycles and learn to read your body you can be successful. However I feel like a lot of people say they're using it correctly but they aren't, and then are surprised when they get pregnant. Actually I think that about a lot of birth control methods.

My brother and sister-in-law used the Billings Method of NFP and were married 2 years before deciding to get pregnant. I actually have many friends who use NFP and it hasn't failed anyone yet. You can over think it easily but just keep track of you cycle and specifically your cervical mucus and how it changes in your cycle to know when you are fertile. I've been using the NFP method for a bit myself and have had success in avoiding pregnancy so far.

It can be 99% effective, if used absolutely perfectly.

Personally, the 1.5-2 weeks I'm infertile and not on my period, I don't have sex because I feel so pained and uncomfortable from PMS. NFP is not for me.

I used it for a year. Since I'm single. I was going to track my cycle with it, along with condoms. But I'm getting back on birth control. Because a baby would be awful for me. Its awesome for couples etc.

We tried it, and it worked until I got pregnant a year later. That's how we had our daughter lol
