hands foot mouth disease?

my lo has gotten the virus and lastnight I thought she had bitten her tongue, but it's actually blisters. I've tooken her to the doctors and they prescribed her magic mouthwash. when should I expect the blisters and red rash all over her body? she is 3 years old, has anyone had this experience? what can I put on her body if it does bother her?
