Hairy butthole

Is the butthole supposed to be naturally hairy? Like REALLY hairy. I'm afraid to even show it to my husband, we don't do anal or anything like that, so it hasn't really come up, it's basically the only thing I'm self conscious about. Also, any way to get rid of the hair? Shaving it isn't an option.
