Ttc after D&C?

Question

I just had a "missed miscarriage", and got a D&C today. I ended up with a ton of unanswered questions and am hoping some of you ladies may be able to help me out! 
My doctor told me to wait one cycle to start ttc, but my husband and I use NFP and I know there's a chance we could accidentally conceive before my cycle. Does anyone know if that is dangerous, and if we should just avoid sex for the next month or so 😞? Or is my dr just being overly cautious and can we start trying as soon as I'm cleared for sex? Should I just use today's date in Glow as the first day of my period and avoid those green days, or is that horribly inaccurate?

Thanks for the advice, ladies! I know I can ask my doctor, but she seems to always err on the side of extreme caution.

You shouldnt have sex for one or two weeks after a dnc anyway as u may get an infection as everything has been cleared away. The reason they tell you to wait is more for dating a new pregnancy. You will have bleedinh for a while after a dnc so its hard to establish whether its a oeriod it bleeding from surgery so harder to date pregnancy. I waited 6 mnths before activley trying to conveive but i think that was more for psycological reasons as it was all reLly upsetting fir me and I was adamant i would keep habing misscariages after misscarriages. Just do whats best for you both. Maybe get a check up at your Dr and ask whether its ok to ttc. Good luck and keep the faith. X

If you have lost a baby the recommended time to wait is three months to let your body heal properly before having another little one in there. I would personally wait and the three months then try. Just so that your body's ready x
