Dont know what to do

The other day my husband and i went for a drive and i saw an old friend and i told my husband that my friend really made a success of his life after being so low all his life and he now has a jaguar car. He got so mad at me coz it sounded like i am praising this guy and idolizing him apparently coz hes driving a jaguar. I told him its not like that i just know how his life was and that i recognise that he tried to be better. We had a huge fight. I apologised numerous times and said that i was wrong. He swore at me and i swore him back. Then he said that if i continue he would kick the shit outa me. I was very upset and said this wont work if he threatens me. And said that i will leave. Now he is saying i must leave and just leave his house keys at the neighhours. Im a house wife. What should i do.
