Lip tie?

Is it necessary to get it clipped? I'm pretty sure my baby has it, I read someones post in here and it made me check my son and the skin from his top lip connects to the middle part on his gums. I don't wanna put his through a painful procedure if it's not necessary

I think it's normal when it connects to the middle--my girl had hers lasered because it was connected all the way to the bottom. You'll have to google it to be sure 😊

My daughter has one. I've heard it usually goes hand in hand with tongue tie but she's not tongue tied. Her dr said they normally break on their own and no point in doing the procedure.

My LC said since my son can flare his lip out during breastfeeding it's not a problem right now. But some dentists will suggest clipping it. So we're gonna wait until he goes to a dentist to decide.

We had to have mine cut because t was a class III (Google "classes of lip ties in infants") and interfered with breastfeeding. If it's not hurting your baby, there's no need to do it!
