D&C and breastfeeding?

I had my c section 10 weeks ago. Today I went and got an ultrasound because I had still been bleeding. I now have to schedule a D&C and hystosonography because my dr said my ultrasound came back looking weird and that she thinks there's some placenta lining adhered to my previous c section scar.

My question is will having a D&C mess with my breastfeeding? Like will I have to wait 24 hours after or anything? Obviously I'm gonna ask once they call to schedule and stuff but I was just curious

I've had to surgeries while breastfeeding. Make it clear to the doctors and anesthesia doctors that you want to breastfeed. They should adjust the medications accordingly.

I had to have my gallbladder removed 10 days after birth. I had to pump and dump for 24 hours after anesthesia. That was the recommendation for the pediatrician. They can adjust your pain meds to those that don't transfer through breast milk.

I had a d&c two weeks ago for retained placenta also. I spoke to the surgeon, anesthesiologist, pediatrician, and lactation consultant about whether it was ok to breasfreed or if I needed to pump and dump. They all said once I got home from the surgery I would be OK to breastfeed as the anesthesia had a short half life and would be out of my system. I ended up hemorrhaging afterwards, going to the ER for 6 hours, and was given a whole bunch of medicines to stop the bleeding and for blood loss. The only thing I could literally do for 4 days after was breastfeed and baby was fine! My surgeon said it actually would help my recovery and help the uterus contract to stop the bleeding.

I had the same situation, I breast fed right before and shortly after. Didn't mess it up or disrupt anything. Baby did however get fed a bottle or two. Nothing major:)
