Showering/bathing with baby?

My daughter is 18 days old and her umbilical cord fell off two days ago, anywho she is in this stage where whenever we take off her diaper she pees and poops everywhere and then we pick her up to clean her and she pees and poops all over me or daddy Lol so when did you guys start bathing or showering with your little ones? I just think it would be easier than setting up the bathtub and then having to take a shower after yourself

For me, it's more of a hassle to bathe with your baby. Awkward angles, and slippery skin.

I haven't bathed with her, but her dad has. He's taken a bathe with her and yesterday we out her in the shower with him because we all had to get showered quickly so it was easier for her to rinse off with him, me clean her then take her to change her then him watch her after so I can shower.
His parents aren't so fond of the idea of him showering with her but I see nothing wrong with it, plus I'm always there. He works all day everyday Monday - Sunday so that's kind of his bonding time with her and I love seeing him wanting to be involved while he's home.

I bathed with my daughter until she was about two months old, as she would scream when you stripped her off, and bawl her eyes out when you put her in water. Unless she was on my chest and/ or beesdtfeeding. It definitely wasn't easier but it was more calm. Now she loves being in the big bath on her own!

I want to bathe with my daughter so bad to cause like you said I have to give her, her bath then shower myself. I heard they have water resistant carriers.. easier for you and safer for baby

I've been bathing with my son since about week 4... But only when his dad is there to help. He sits next to the tub and helps with shampoo, holding his head, and especially taking him out of the tub. I can't imagine doing it by myself because he gets so slippery.

I'm going to be washing my baby in the kitchen sink until I'm not bleeding. I just don't feel too comfortable bathing with my baby if I'm getting the water all bloody. Don't know why, just seems gross. But daddy might bathe with him if he decides he wants to. If he wants to bathe with him the day he's born he certainly can. It's even safer than the sink if he has the baby right there in his lap.

When ever your comfortable, just be very very careful not to slip!! Of course I'm sure you have a non slip mat, but just be very careful! Good luck!

I bathe with mines when she was two weeks after her cord fell off. I sat down and held her while daddy sat in the bathroom and watch & patiently waited to take her out.

I was gifted a pair of white cotton gloves that are sold as gloves that you wear after you apply lotion so it can help soften your hands... anyway, we wear them whether we bathe the baby in her tub or if we bathe with her, they give us grip and prevent slippage but still allow full use of our hands!
