Is my mom to over protective? #rant

So im 12 olmost 13 and my mom wont let me walk 2 blocks to this bakery she seid that shorts and a t shirt where to revealing and she won't even let me stay home alone. Opinions?

This doesn't seem that overprotective to me. It's sounds like your mom cares about your safety and knows what the world is like. Typically with age comes maturity and with that comes more freedom. It sucks now but you'll begin to appreciate it later.

I would say that's over protective. But i dont personally know you or your maturity level... for me with my kids its all about the maturity of the kid not the age. I let my 11 yr old stay home alone but she cant walk the block to the store because she doesnt pay attention.  Hopefully you can have a conversation with your mom and ask her what you need to do to show her that you are mature enough for these responsibilities and that you cant show her that you are growing/maturing if she doesnt give you a chance to prove yourself to her. You're only 12, she's just being a good parent. When I was 12 I thought I was way more of an adult than I actually was and not that I'm 19, I see that I was definitely still a child and acted childish especially thinking my parents were over protective when they were just being smart

Doesn't sound over protective at all, you are a child and she is treating you as such, I know it can be hard sometimes but be happy that ur parents care so much, you will be grown up quick enough

My mom is like that except for the shorts and t-shirt part. But she lets me hang out with friends on the street and in the alley. And if my older sister is home (she lives just across the road from me) she leaves me home alone if I wanted to that is.
