Failing at being a wife?

Told my husband of 3 months that I feel like I'm failing as a wife. His reply " I don't know what to say to that" and then he picked up his phone and started playing a game. Does this mean I am?

What does it mean the fail at being a wife? Have you cheated? Have you looked elsewhere for love and affection? Have you financially kept secrets? Or right out lied about something?

Everything else like housework, being a sexual partner, cooking is a team effort where you are both equal partners.

Please give yourself a break, men don't think like we do. He probably thinks your statement was silly and didn't want to take the time to talk to you about it. Which can make him the lacking partner. Good luck, just allow your love and compassion to flow.

I think he probably feels your being silly, and just ignored it. If he agreed then he would of continued the conversation

He probably doesn't want to say the wrong thing and upset you. Alot of men don't understand why we have the thoughts we do. Try to talk to him tho. Explain how you feel and exactly why you think you're failing. I'm sure you're not doing as bad as you think you are.

Don't start to show your insecurities to him.  The more you continue with those comments the more he is going to think it's true.  You are only human. No one is perfect so don't be hard on yourself. It took me about a year to adjust to marriage life. It's not easy so just give yourself some credit!  You're doing fine. 😊😊

The cool thing about men is that they usually say exactly what they mean. While it's not a very sensitive, comforting, or loving response...maybe he actually really just doesn't know what to say to that. The leading comment right now says something like "how are you failing as a wife? Did you cheat? ,..etc" Maybe he has no idea where to even start, because that is a pretty big statement. Maybe you could try again and offer why you think so. But also I would tell him I was hurt by the insensitive response earlier.

Maybe your expectations are unrealistic. He doesn't know what to say, so I doubt he thinks you're a failure.

As for his behavior, I'm not exactly excusing it, but he may have honestly not known what to say or do with mout making the situation worse.

Why do you feel like a failure? Is it something you've done, or something you haven't done? And do you have any older women to talk to? You're a 3-month old, here. Lol Find someone whose marriage is "older" and tell her why you feel like you do. It may be perfectly normal. 😊

It's only been 3 months, give yourself a break. Being a newlywed is a major adjustment. The best thing my husband and I did was delegate responsibilities before we were married. My husband cooks, I clean. It's nice to know where your able to help out and kinda gauge what each persons responsibilities are. I wouldn't overcompensate, but just see what needs to be done and do it. I've been married for 6 years, and my husband is really great at helping with house work and with taking care of our son. If your husband doesn't say anything about your ability as a wife, I wouldn't look for issues. If your wanting him to help out more, communicate that.

You kinda started with a loaded statement. He may have thought you were trying to start a fight. Sit down with him and tell him how you feel. Reading too much into men will drive you nuts.
