terrified to put her down

Hayden
My LO who is 3 weeks old today was having a terrible time this evening. I could tell hertummy was  hurting. She had literally just nursed and was having a fit just a few minutes later acting like she wanted to nurse more but she would tense up and those little arms and legs would get going like with tummy pain. Plus, when she nurses too long she spits a ton up like her tummy is too full.
I pulled out the gripe water and dispensed some into her cheek. Well when I did that she began crying and inhaled and choked. I immediately picked her up upright and stared pounding away at her back. She was gasping like when she chokes while breastfeeding. She got floppy and was still gasping so I blew into her face a couple times and propped her up on my shoulder and continued to pat her back.  She had a little rasp when breathing (like when we get mucous caught in our throats) but it's gone now.
I have her propped up and laying on my chest so I can feel and hear her breath.
I'm terrified to put her down now for fear she will stop breathing.
