Is this pain normal?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm 16 weeks, last night I woke up with the worst back pain I've ever had, the best way to describe it is like period pains but it was so bad I was in tears and I've never had them in my back before! They lasted about 10 mins, has anyone has this? Should I go get checked out?

I wouldn't worry if the pain didn't come back, I have little cramps and back pain, it's because your belly is growing and its putting pressure on the pelvic area, and another cause is your baby might be moving around and kicking you're not feeling it but your kind of stretching from the inside

If the pain has gone and doesn't come back I wouldn't worry too much. It could have been the way you was lying, baby sat on a nerve, stretching pain all sorts. If it comes back though get it checked as could be sign of kidney infection. Hope it doesn't come back for you!
