depo shot? funky smell?

So I recently got my first round of the depo birth control shot. I was told about all of the weird symptoms but I wasn't told about this and I'm wondering if it's related or it's something else... ever since I started my period (which has now ended) I've been noticing this strong terrible smells coming from my lady parts. Now that my period has ended the smell is still there and I'm having weird brown discharge. I'm not having any other symptoms of an infection so I don't think I have an infection. I can deal with the discharge but the smell is absolutely awful and won't go away even right after I've washed myself. Has anybody else had this problem with the depo shot or should I be worried that it's something else... please help
