Vasectomy/tubes tied
So, after having my one (and only) child I had already made up my mind that I wanted to have my tubes tied about 3 months prior to giving birth. My delivery (hemorrhaging) made me want it even more. My obgyn is refusing to do the procedure because of the risk of ectopic pregnancy and that I'd still have to be on hormone therapy (due to issues I have). If I elected to have this procedure done my insurance will cover all of it.
She said to have my SO get a vasectomy instead.
He has four children now, so it made sense for him to. We called the doctor and found out that it will cost him $700 and his insurance will not cover a penny.
Now, seeing as how we have four children, we don't have extra money lying around. Right now he is only making what covers our bills. We can't even save for a second car. My work (new thrive promotor, riding instructor only during summer) only provides some extra here and there that we put towards credit card bills.
So, I'm once again stuck with... should I go ahead and request my other doctor provide me with my procedure due to my insurance covering it? Or should I just continue my hormones until we can save for the vasectomy.
We do not want anymore children. None.
