can I spoil my newborn?

People keep telling me if I hold her too much she will always want to be held (don't understand why that's a bad thing) and she will be spoiled and act like a brat when she's older because I held her too much as an infant. Is this an actual thing? FTM, please no judgement.

No you can't spoil a newborn... I do think you can spoil a toddler though lol. Newborns need the extra love and attention.

My stepson was barely held as a newborn (sad I know) and he's a big ol brat lol. Whether they're held a lot or not does not determine whether or not they'll be little shits. They all go through an attitude phase. Hold that baby until your arms fall off if you want

Until they can self soothe, until about 4 months, you can't spoil them. But my friends baby who is 6 months is very spoiled.  she has to continually hold him or he throws a fit. And she has to be standing, he doesn't like it when she's sitting and holding him lol in that aspect he's spoiled. But I wouldn't stress, just love your baby.

Newborns don't work on a schedule lol of course when kids are older you can have a routine but newborns need to feel safe and comfort they have been in your belly for 9 months it's scary for them

Hold your baby as much as you want. They don't have to deal with your child so it's none of their concern. And just for comfort, my son was never put down as a baby he is now the sweetest little boy ever! Rarely any brat moments. Good luck on raising your own don't worry too much.
