birth story!

5am on the 16th december i stood up out of bed and my waters started to trickle ( i actually tried to catch it with my hands😂) i woke my boyfriend and told my mum and we got ready and phoned the hospital who said to come in. We arrived at 7am where i got a cervix exam in Triage dept. and i was 2cm dilated and had a stretch and sweep done once my little guy had stopped shaking his head against the midwife's fingers. I was discharge and told to come back when contractions are 3 minutes apart and i cant talk through them. We took this opportunity to finish some christmas shopping before going home. We got home around 11am and my sister and brother in law brought around and assembled the pram whilst i laboured in the bath before getting out and vomiting from the pain. My sister (luckily) came and checked on me and looked on my timer to see how far apart my contractions were and decided it was definitely time to go to hospital. At this point it was only 12:30pm. I got up, walked down stairs, got my bag ready, and shoes on through contractions and got in the car, we got to the hospital around 1:30pm and went back up to triage for another cervix exam where i was 5cm already! They got me in a room in labour and delivery and we had to wait for the midwife to come. My mum ended up getting someone because i started feeling extremely dizzy so my midwife decided to come then and hook me on a fetal and contraction monitor.
