No this is not body shaming, it's the truth from a medical personnel's view. It doesn't attack the patient for being that big but explains why it isn't healthy and why it shouldn't be OK to be obese. I am obese for my age and height about 70-100 lbs and I'm 31 and I'm in more pain in my joints than I should be mainly my knees and feet.

It's would be busy shaming if this person was talking bad about the patient to make he/she feel bad about themselves, or to make fun of them.

I 100% agree. There is a HUGE difference between accepting naturally curvy big boobs and butts and accepting obesity as 'body positivity'. There is nothing positive about being overweight or obese.

As someone who is considered overweight, I agree on most of her points. Being obese is unhealthy; that is just a fact. What I don't like is people thinking that body acceptance is this idea where we're telling people that being unhealthy is okay. No. Body acceptance is recognizing that the human body comes in many shapes and sizes and that you shouldn't treat someone a certain way because of weight. Whether it be skinny or big. Body acceptance is loving the body you are in and not feeling this pressure to fit whatever the standard is. Right now, big butts are in. There was a time when heroin chic was a thing. Fashion and standards change with time, but you have to be able to love yourself for who you are. It took me a long time to be able to love myself, and I'm still working on it. I was bullied all throughout school. People who didn't even know me would say things like, "oh look at the baby hippo." But my mother would tell me I was beautiful. There is this crazy society we have that has put a standard on EVERYTHING. We need to learn that we don't have to stay in that standard. That being said, loving your body is also taking care of it.

Not fat shaming at all. Very true and informative. People need to take care of their bodies. Having curves is fine. But being obese is NOT healthy and shouldn't be accepted. You shouldn't make someone feel bad about it either, but rather inform them on what can/will happen if they continue their ways

I wouldn't call it that, no, but although there's nothing wrong with promoting good health and encouraging it, fat people should still be accepted and respected as they are.

I agree with most of this. I don't think it's saying that people need to be skinny-but to eat healthy and keep moving so you can live a longer and more comfortable life. I have definitely seen my metabolism slow down and if I ate now how I did 5 years ago I would probably be obese as well. Of course there are people with medical issues who will stay at a higher weight regardless of diet, but even then that is no excuse to not put nourishing food in your body. I would say a majority of people that are super morbidly obese eat junk and don't exercise-for different reasons of course. Some people have emotional trauma that they mask with food and others just don't care. I think this post focuses more on the right aspect of things by talking about health, and how weight greatly impacts someone's health wether we like it or not. Not fat shaming in my opinion.

Nope... just absolute truth. I've been overweight my entire life... even a 10lb baby lol.  My reproductive specialist was the first to give it to me like this.  Maybe some are being a bit too sensitive.  He didn't use names or make fun.  No shaming here.
