my baby has made a New cry that freaked me out

I put my daughter down on her play mat and was playing w her with this little car thing and she started to cry like a New cry hyperventilating cry like she got hurt.. I freaked out picked her up and thought something bit her. I looked in her ears and her clothes .. I couldn't see anything visibly wrongs. It was crazy. Had anyone experienced this with their kid .. btw she is almost 3 months.
