Boyfriend in the military?😭

I'm about to graduate high school and my 20 year old boyfriend (that I live with) wants to go to the military.. I don't want him to go because I don't want to lose him what should I do ? I'm stressing so hard

Ultimately it's his choice and the best thing you can do is support him. Hopefully he will take your opinion into consideration but you need to realize you are both very young and have lives ahead of you! Military isn't the end of the world, it's the beginning of a new one. Whatever happens, good luck to you both.

Let him go. If nothing else he'll get the experience and training to make it through adult life...at least that's what they say in the Go Army commercials

My SO is a Marine. You have to be supportive of whatever decision he makes. It is time for my love to start the process of getting out (I.e. his contract is up). He has the choice of getting out, being a reservist, or reenlisting. While I want to go home because I am missing out on my nephew and little sister growing up, I have to be supportive of whatever decision he makes. It is tough but it is worth it. Chin up(: Just be supportive especially through boot camp and MOS schooling. And if you two are living together and he is in, you would be better off being married financially. My guy is an E4, while I have a full time job and it is still difficult to make ends meet. A lot comes with the decision to be in the military. Just make sure you are supportive and that he knows you back him 100% I hope this helps.

My boyfriend (husband now we've been together for 9yrs) wanted to join the military but I was being selfish and didn't want him to go about 1yr later he mentioned it again anyway I was upset that I wouldn't see him all the time but I gave him my support. He was at a place that was a 4hr drive away from me. He came home as often as he could and he did miss a lot with our first daughter.. It was hard at times but you just learn to get on with it... 3yrs later we decided the time was right to get married so we could be a family all together.. The best think for you to do is give your support have a sit down and talk about it.. Good luck
