Can someone help?

So I'm 19 ,and my mother, sisters, brothers and all of my family are getting on me about using birth control since I'm moving into my own apt with my boyfriend... BUT I don't want to take birth control because all my friends that do take it gained slot of weight and they said it was because of it idk I don't want to gain weight I'm trying to lose weight what do I do?

Well, you'll certainly gain weight if you get pregnant.

They are lots of different methods and what happens to others may not happen to you. Maybe speaking to your Dr may help you. At the end of the day it's YOUR body and if you're not comfortable taking birth control then don't. There are always condoms!

You only gain the weight if you're inactive. Since being on the patch I've only lost weight. So everyone is different. I also once read that this excessive weight everyone is so scared of is not true. My dr called it a myth. People on birth control typical gain 5 pounds the most. But what would you rather want...to gain "5" pounds due to birth control or 15-30 due to a pregnancy? Your call.

You are a great candidate for an IUD. They have lower doses of hormones if you choose the hormonal type and low incidence of weight gain.

Lol not everyone gains weight Ig it just depends on the person , just avoid smashing on your fertile days.

If you don't want to get pregnant, then I suggest that you do go on some form of contraception. Maybe go to the doctors to discuss your options.
