BF was responding to Craig's list ad

I had been dating my boyfriend seriously for a couple weeks and while I was traveling he had sent emails responding to girls on Craigslist. He said his friend must've done it from his phone. Everyone has a password so it doesn't seem that easy to do? I'm so confused, we have been together for over 3 months now and I'm not sure what to believe.
