Is it mean to take kids to see Santa?

I personally only took my kids for their very first Christmas and I'm going to wait until they're old enough to ask to see him. I feel so bad for all these kids screaming when they sit with him!! I do not judge anyone I'm just saying this is what I'm comfortable with. Anyone else?!

My kids love Santa! I absolutely do not make them sit on his lap. They usually stand next to him and talk. And I don't bring them if I have to force them and it makes them cry. Sometimes we have to walk around the mall for a while until they are ready, but the thought of leaving the mall without seeing Santa brings them to tears. So we do our best to make it a stress free experience.

It's only mean if you force your child to sit on his lap. My daughter has always said that she wants to sit beside of him or if the seat isn't big enough then stand beside him. Once she tells me that she don't want to visit him we won't be going.

Personally, I don't make my son go. I can remember being weirded out by the Strange, stinky man being close by or even being forced to sit on his lap. I find it weird to let kids sit on a strange man's lap.

Side note- I'm a huge Christmas fan too!

It's mean if you're child doesn't like it. My family has no pictures of Santa cause that shit freaked me and my sister out. The only one we have is one I took in kindergarten with a teacher dressed up.

We did the first xmas because she was 3 months old. She's not receptive to new people so a man in that get up probably wouldn't have gone over well this year. I didn't think it was that important.

My grandma believes kids have to have their pictures done with him every year.

We go but if they change their mind once we get close, we get out of line.
