supporting someone with anxiety
My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years ... he has always suffered from anxiety to a point but lately it's gotten worse . I notice he has gone from social anxiety , to social and performance anxiety to social, performance and also anxiety about failure ... it seems to progress . I've been there for him and told him multiple times that I believe in him and love him but he Never sees his own potential . I try and tell him to talk to someone , a councillor , a psychologist .. anyone . I really wish he would get the help that he needs but he refuses to admit he needs the help . It's killing me watching him go through this but there isn't much I can do for him other than be there and support him . I'm trying to look out for him and help him out but there is only so much I can do . He gets defensive every time I bring up possibly seeing a councillor about all of his feelings . It's gotten to a point where he doesn't even feel like his program is right for him ... but it is , he has so much passion for it but his anxiety holds him back . He's admitted to this when he isn't in the midst of panicking . Idk what to do . This is some of our conversation .
