Gender issues with parents?

Question

I'm raising my baby with both boy and girl toys, boy and girl clothes. They are fully aware of their sex and what that means (they are 10, they need to know). They are happy with both girl and boy things but other parents are giving me crap for it. The children of these parents accept my child but if my kid is happy then why does it matter? You'd think after 10 years of people giving unsolicited advice I'd get over it...

personally i will raise my child as whatever sex they are, until they are aware and decide themselves what they would like to play with and wear i will be 100% okay with it.  
i will not push for boys only playing with trucks and girls only playing with barbies.

Both my kids play with both. I have one of each. I teach them not to care what the kids or parents say.

I played with hot wheels more than I played with barbies when I was little and I turned out perfectly fine. I think it's good to expose them to things and not to make things "gender specific" especially toys. If your boy wants to braid barbies hair or demolish a Lego city with monster trucks then go for it. I think you're being a great mom :)

I had Barbies and army men when I was a kid. One Christmas I got a camping Barbie set AND a remote control monster truck. My mom never once told me "this is for boys" or "this is for girls". I'm 100% a fully functioning adult.

My son will be allowed to do the same.

They are your kids mom you know what's best and even if you don't it's your life your kids . Even if it's a mistake YOU will learn. 
People kill me always giving advise to mom's expecially if you didn't ask for it. 
Just do pay the any mind it's been ten yrs I'm sure it'll be many more. .
